EFT for Accounts Payable error

I set up EFT for AP. I configured a checkbook, vendors and created transactions, posted them and created payments. I then tried to generate the EFT file to send to the bank for confirmation. When I did so, I received an error message-

Unhandled Script exception.

Bad datatype detected for Operation

EXCEPTION_CLASS_SCRIPT_BAD_TYPE

SCRIPT_CMD_COLUMNOFTABLE

Any ideas on what this means, and how to resolve it?

Hello Cwolin57,

I have seen this error before and usually it is caused by a corrupt or damaged EFT Format. If this is the case, you will be able to recreate the error when exporting the format and importing it into a different GP system.

The EFT Format may have the incorrect series associated with it in the CM00103 table. In order to fix that, please run the following script in SQL Server Management Studio. To confirm run the following script and ensure that the result for Series is 4.

Select SERIES, * from CM00103 where EFTFormatID = 'XXX' (Replace the X's with your format ID)

If it is anything else, you will need to update it to be a 4. As always, test this solution after making a backup!
