Credit Memo on a Job

Hi All-

We have only one client that uses Jobs so, my knowledge is limited.  They are trying to post a sales Credit Memo from a Job.  They keep getting the error "You should consume item XXXX in Job XXXX before you post Credit Memo XXXX".

Any idea what this is telling them?  They are on version 5.0.

    I think it refers to post  by job journal the product you want to make credit memo

    Not sure I understand that.  They have a job with 3 Planning Lines.  The first is the Purchase Invoice, the second is the Sales Invoice and the third is the Sales Credit Memo, which has been created.  The sales invoice was for a qty of 4 and the sales credit is for 3.  

    I don't understand what the error is saying about "consuming" the item, when I try to post the credit memo......

    Hi,

    This error message may occur if no negative Job Journal Entry (=neg. Job ledger Entry) has been registered before posting of a Credit Memo linked to a Job. The mirroring scenario on Sales side takes place when the user tries to post a Sales Invoice linked to a Job without first registering consumption (=pos. Job Ledger Entry).

    Could you please check whether the user has registered a neg. Job Ledger Entry before trying to post the Credit Memo in question?
