Dynamics GP and Excise Tax

Hello Expert,

Can anyone guide me on Excise Tax in Dynamics GP for US region? How we can setup? Is it base on customer or Items? It seems to be we want it base on Customers.

    One of the companies I support was forced to do this under the ObamaCare changes.  They make medical devices.  Because it was Sales based we thought about using Sales Commissions since it is akin to a royalty payment.  In the end, we run sales reports to excel, and use the resulting worksheet as a Payable.  Not elegant, but it works.  

    While I'm writing this, I thought about using Sales taxes, but these will show on Sales documents (not desired in some cases).

    Maybe someone else will have a better approach.

    Tim,

    You are correct after talking with client he explained me same kind of calculation. They do excise tax calculation on excel. I was thinking we have to handle like Sales Tax.
