Excel Data Import Issue

Hi All -

I am trying to import a subset of new items from the production environment into a sandbox environment.  I exported the item list via a configuration package, deleted the records i didn't want to import, created a config package in the sandbox and then imported the excel file.  After importing, i selected "apply."  When i check the items, only the item number has been imported.  I checked and all of the fields for the table are selected for export and import.

Do any of you know why the other fields aren't populating?

thanks!

Looks like an Excel problem, are these actual values? I mean, they're not formulas?
I suggest exporting the template from Sandbox, then adding a new item using this template, importing it, and seeing if there is any problem.
If that's OK, then something might have gone wrong while copying the value.

Hope this can give you some hints.
    Thanks.

You stated you manually created the same configuration package in the sandbox environment. Are the fields in that config. package in the same order as in production? That could be another reason.

Valentin -thank you for your reply.  I followed the procedure as you explained and there are no errors, but for some reason the fields still aren't being populated.

It looks like you have errors in your configuration package. If you have errors, the system doesn't import all the data but it only creates the records with the number field populated. You can check in the configuration package what the error is. I wrote a blog post about configuration packages and have a section on handling errors here.
