Errors after PSTL Install for GP2010

This is an issue I spent a few hours trying to resolve, that I hope will be addressed with the Professional Services Tools Library for GP2010.

I had not installed this since we upgraded to GP2010 in June. Our VAR sent the file and I installed it on my client workstation.

When I launch GP I get the error "Procedure Registration Trigger Failed.[smChangeVendorMaster] but I am able to open GP and log in normally.

We then had two users complain that they were unable to save a new Vendor. I also got the error in that company "A save operation on table 'PM_Vendor_MSTR' (45)." and clicking More Info gives the message "[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Error converting data type char to numeric."

Weird right? So I decided to try another company and I was able to save a vendor.  I tried a third company, and was NOT able to save a vendor.  Then I thought, I wonder if the company that worked was the one I first launched PSTL in?  So I opened PSTL in this third company, and it ran through it's progress and opened PSTL. Closed that, and this time I was able to Save the new Vendor.

Now, in order for our users to be able to create Vendors in each company, I have to log into roughly 50 companies to get this working.

This still does not resolve my login issue - maybe it will?

    I agree..

I saw about a half-dozen old posts from 2012 coming back as getting 'new' answers, but were indeed not touched at all..

    Thanks for the input.

Weird thing is this is the second time a really old post  had a response today.

This an old thread, but nonetheless an interesting question.

One of the most annoying and tedious task is to get the PSTL installed in each and every GP company after the initial setup, which takes anywhere between 1-2 min per company.

This wouldn't be a problem if you only have a few companies, but becomes a chore when you have 50 to initialize.

I wrote a Macro in GP to jump from one company to the other an initialize the PSTL.. unfortunately the macro breaks sometimes due to some companies coming up after the logon with some incomplete tasks, and that breaks the process.

Still, if you have enabled the Advanced Options for Macros in GP, you can restart the macro from the line where it failed without having to edit the whole macro.
