Set Users Access to CRM as READ ONLY temporarily

Hi , I would like to ask, whether there's an option to set the user's access from the environments as READ ONLY temporarily. A solution with less effort is highly considered, since it'll be temporary.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Marjorie,

You can clone System Administrator role and take out all the permissions except Read from all the tabs of the security role. Then assign this role to the users and apps.

Permissions can be easily taken out from the cloned role just by clicking on the the Permission header names. Example, click on Delete to remove delate permission from all the entities in that tab.

    Hello Marjorie,

The way to do is to create a security role with minimum privilege(read access to relevant entity) and assign it to specific user. Would suggest to create a copy of some basic role(like salesperson) rather than using Sys Admin, because copy of sys admin role would need lot of changes since, it has all access.

Once, your requirement is finished, you can remove back this security role and re-assign the roles with high privilege.

This is the only clean and better approach that does not needs any coding.

Thanks! I agree, this is the only and supported way I found too. I copied all my required custom roles, to keep the access limited to the entities the users have access.

Thanks! I agree, this is the only and supported way I found too. What I did is copied all my required custom roles. But still this approach of copying the roles worked.

What would you give this user for a license?
