Using Batch processing window for alerts

Hi

At Batch processing of alerts - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn, there is a description on using Batch processing window.
it seems interesting to use, but I can't see any option on setting up a batch processing window on the due-date alert I've setup.

How to setup/apply this Batch processing window in practice?

Thanks

Any way to setup a 3 days batch processing window, if I don't want to see alert notifications older than 3 days - if for some reason, that the otherwise daily batchjob didn't run for 3 days?

I suppose that alert batch job would normally be set like "a start date, no end date, and a daily recurrence (or more often).

Then as a example, I have created an alert for "open purchase order lines with a Confirmed receipt more than 1 days old".
This would then alert me of new orderlines from yesterday.

Then, if the alert batch job is not running for 5 days, and I don't want to see alert-notifications older than 3 days, where do I setup this "window of 3 days", so I only see the recent late purchase orderlines?

    Hi,
The concept of the relevant batch processing window described in the article is consistent with the concept described in the link you provided. The batch processing window is mainly used to prevent due date alerts from becoming obsolete because the batch job hasn't been run for several days. In D365FO, you can refer to the following example settings:
You can navigate to System Management> Alert> Due Date Alert, click Recurrence, set the time interval as shown in the screenshot.

You can set the "End By" to some date value which will be 10 days from today.
On the recurrence pattern you can set the different interval of recurrence.

    Thanks,
    Girish S.

    Hi

    Thanks for the links.
After reading, also the example of a window of 10 days, then I still don't see/know where to set these 10 days.
The documentation says "The interval that you specify in the Options form, on the Notifications tab, defines the number of days", but from where?
I can't locate this neither on any due date rule or the batch job for due date processing.

I assume it relevant that the actual number of days could be different for each rule?

    Thanks.

NB: Is it something that was relevant for AX2012, but not any more for D365FO?

    Hi,

You need to expand the "Run in the background" tab >> Click on Recurrence button on the top. Inside that form you can set recurrence as you want.

    Thanks,
    Girish S.

    Hi,
A batch processing window defines the interval by which the time limit that is specified in a criterion for a due date alert rule can be exceeded. The interval that you specify in the Options form, on the Notifications tab, defines the number of days that alerts are delivered even though batches do not run.
You can view these two documents to set up this form information.
