We are attempting to upgrade our Solomon (current version is 6.00.2272 (6.0 SP1) of Solomon Professional) to Dynamics SL 7.0. This upgrade will also include moving Solomon databases to sql 2005. Our sql 2005 server is Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition (SP2) 64 bit. The server Dynamics will be installed on (moving it to a new server) is Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition (SP2) 34 bit.
When I install the client on a user's computer (it is a brand new computer, so no old version to take off), I get an error in the dialog box to connect to the database. This is the initial dialog box you get when first opening up Dynamics SL, says select a company, so I click on button that says 'Find Database'. I then select the sql server, and select the solomon system database. When I click on OK, I get a signon.exe error. That says signon.exe has encountered an error and has to close. In the event viewer I do see a .NET framework 2.0 error also.
The weird thing about this is if I log onto this computer, and launch Dynamics w/ my account, it all works fine.
I am a domain admin, but I assume all our users do not need to be domain admins.
Any suggestions on where to look?
Thanks
