Financial reporting not opening

Hi all,

Getting below error on opening Financial reporting in D365 F&O from Tier-1 cloud hosted machine.

Can someone help?

What kind of tier-1 deployment? Dev, Demo, Build?

I have opened the link for you. It states that you have to install an add-in.

You cannot install add-ins in tier-1 environments. The component might come with the demo deployment, but I don't know since we don't do demos with CHE's anymore.

Hi Jonas,

I followed the link and it's applicable to Tier2+ environments.

I am facing this issue in both Dev/Demo types of Tier-1 CHEs. I remember it used to work earlier in tier-1 Dev environment but in newly created environments it not the case.

Hmm... They might have removed it recently.

Is it also gone if you select an older product version when you deploy the environment, for example version 10.0.39?

Have you installed the Add-in from the LCS and tried, that is the new process of having FR in the D365 going forward.

Hi,

The Financial reporter add-in is not installed in your environment. It looks like this on the Dynamics Lifecycle Services Environment landing page.

Additionally, Post installation that if you don't see any data in the Financial reporting database then do a data mart reset to populate data from the D365 FO Application Database to the Financial reporting DB.

Hi Ramit and Navneeth,

This is a Tier-1 environment. Add-ins are supported only on Tier-2+ environments. This issue is coming on only newly created Tier-1 Dev/Demo type of environment.

See below, no option to install add-ins:

Hi,

This issue is quite common in D365 Finance & Operations (Financial Reporting), especially in Tier-1 environments. A few things you can check:

1. Check Financial Reporting services status

Make sure all services are running (Management Reporter / Financial Reporting services). Sometimes services stop after updates or VM restarts.

2. Browser & cache

Try opening in InPrivate/Incognito mode or clear browser cache. Also test with another browser (Edge/Chrome).

3. User permissions

Ensure your user has proper roles like Financial Reporter / System User. Missing permissions can block report access.

4. ClickOnce / Components issue

Financial Reporting uses ClickOnce components — try accessing it from another machine to isolate if it’s a local issue.

5. Environment sync

If recently refreshed or updated, the Financial Reporting database might not be fully synced. In LCS, check if Financial Reporting is initialized and healthy.

6. Check error logs

Look into Event Viewer (on the VM) or LCS logs for more detailed error messages.

If you can share the exact error message or screenshot, it would help narrow down the root cause
