Copying CRM Production to Sandbox with Trial Custom Portal

I need to copy over my Production instance of Dynamics 365 to my Sandbox environment. However, my Sandbox currently has the Custom Portal Trial add-on installed and the Production instance has no portal add-on. What steps should I take to make sure that there are no problems with reinstalling the Trial Portal to my new Sandbox instance? Change the portal state to Off and delete the portal solutions in my Sandbox? I am using the CRM Online version of the portal.

Also, is there a way to copy the Portal data in my Sandbox so I can transfer that over to my updated Sandbox instance?

Hi Daniel,

I have not seen this done before. I would open a ticket with MSFT and ask them as this add-on is new and not all scenarios have been played through. I would expect you copy production back to sandbox, everything in sandbox goes away. Then place the portal add-on back on the sandbox instance as you should still have the license for that add-on. As for the data, if you want to keep that, only copy configuration, don't replace everything from production to sandbox. Let us know how it turns out.
