Linked Entity Lists

Is it possible to link two Entity Lists together so that the 2nd Entity List will only show entities associated with both the current logged in user and the entity selected in the 1st Entity List?

I tried making a Web Page with an Entity List that links to another Web Page with a different Entity List, both lists only containing information related to the logged in user. However, when I click a field in the 1st Entity List, the 2nd Entity List shows ALL of the entities associated with the 1st List (rather than just the selected entity in the 1st list).

Can I filter the information in the 2nd List to entities associated with both the logged in user and the entity selected in the 1st List? I used the Portal User Attribute field in the Entity List settings to narrow it down to the logged in users information, but I can't find a way to further filter the information to a selected entity in the 1st Entity List.

ex. First Entity List is a list of Used Computers the current user is buying/selling. When you click on one of the computers in the list, you are taken to the second Entity List which shows a list of previous deals involving the selected computer (my 2nd List shows deals from every entity in the 1st List). Finally, you can click on one of the deals in the second Entity List to show a Detailed View page for that entity.

Apologies for the super confusing post

Thank you all

    Hi Daniel,

It looks like you are creating a web page which contains two drop down list. List A and List B which contains record for different entities.

When user select record for A then related records of B has to be displayed in List B which are owned by current Login user.

In that case you can create a fetch XML using advance find as you can check below example for Invoice (List A) and Invoice product (List B).

    D11.jpg

Or you can process result for List B before finally binding to List B.

Hope we understood your requirement and above suggestion helps for you.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! I tried the advanced find method as you described, but in the drop-down where your .jpg has "Equals Current User", the only options I see are:

    -Equals

    -Does not Equal

    -Contains Data

    -Does not contain Data

    -Contains

    -Does not Contain

    -Begins with

    -Does not begin with

    -Ends with

    -Does not end with

Is there another user dynamic option I could use?

Hi Daniel, your second page should not be an entity list but an entity form with a subgrid that shows all the items that are related to it.

On the first entity list you would link a details page and set the details page web page to use an entity form.  The CRM form used shows your related items in a sub grid and include nothing else.  The second page will just display the sub grid which will look exactly like the entity list.  If you need to further configure the sub grid then you can use entity form metadata.

Yes ,Grid will be good to display related records (List B).

Since you are using script, use condition “Equals” and select a user then download the Xml.

Before executing script to retrieve records you can dynamically replace the user Guid in query with Guid of the user you want to retrieve records of.

Example : In the below condition you can replace value with the Guid of the user.

    “<condition attribute="ownerid" operator="eq" uitype="systemuser" value="{06EDBDAE-A806-422A-AD59-5CADC4686355}" />”

    Hope this helps for you.

    Thanks!
