    Hi,

When you don't see any entity it means you don't have read permission on that entity. Is this for your user or other users as well? make sure you have proper permission on the notes (annotation) entity.

If you are an admin then check if notes are enabled for opportunity entity.

In the below article you can see we have Activity and on top of it we have check box for notes.

If it is enabled then check timeline settings. It should show notes also.

    Hello SA-26112258-0,

Troubleshooting the Missing "Notes" Option in Dynamics 365 Sales Timeline

    Understanding the Issue:
The inability to add notes to the timeline of an Opportunity record in Dynamics 365 Sales can be frustrating. Several factors could be causing this issue:

    Potential Causes and Solutions:
    1. Security Role Permissions:
Verify Permissions: Ensure that the user role has the necessary permissions to create and view notes.
Check "Create" and "Read" Privileges: Verify that the user's security role has "Create" and "Read" privileges for the "Note" entity.
Consult Your System Administrator: If you're unsure about security roles, consult your system administrator to review and adjust permissions as needed.
    1. Browser Issues:
Clear Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, browser cache and cookies can interfere with the correct display of form elements. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, then refresh the page.
Try a Different Browser: Test the functionality in a different browser to rule out browser-specific issues.
    1. Customization Interference:
Review Customizations: If your organization has custom forms, scripts, or plugins, they might be affecting the display of the "Notes" option.
Temporarily Disable Customizations: To isolate the issue, try temporarily disabling custom components.
Consult Your System Administrator: If you're unsure about making changes to customizations, consult your system administrator.
    1. Dynamics 365 Version and Update:
Check for Updates: Ensure that you're using the latest version of Dynamics 365 Sales and that all updates are installed.
Contact Microsoft Support: If you're still experiencing the issue after trying the above solutions, contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.

    Additional Tips:
Check the Timeline Configuration: Ensure that the timeline is enabled for the Opportunity entity and that the "Note" entity is included in the timeline configuration.
Test in Different Browsers and Devices: Try accessing Dynamics 365 from different devices and browsers to see if the issue persists.
Look for Browser Extensions: Some browser extensions can interfere with the functionality of web applications. Try disabling any relevant extensions.
By following these steps and considering the potential causes, you should be able to resolve the issue and enable the "Notes" option in the Opportunity timeline.
