Why does the user need sysadmin role on the SQL server for installing CRM? Is it changing the SQL instance configuration?

    I think it's, mostly, the ability to create databases that makes this a requirement.. although, it seems you may be able to make it work without sysadmin( https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/101496 ), but it's probably easier to just accept the requirements and follow the recommended deployment procedure.
