Business Central - Integrate Jobs with Warehouse Shipments - Bill to and Ship to address

A client wants to manage projects on customer sites. They are creating a Job in BC - with planning lines of type item and resource.

They need to ship the product to the site, where the resource will then install the items.

We have used a "Cust job " location - and SKUs to drive the planning worksheet to create a transfer order. Any other suggestions on how to handle this?

However, main issue is that the Bill to customer for the job may be different to the ship-to address. This can't be held on the job, but is needed to update the transfer order. Any suggestions on how this can be done (without writing an extension).

Are there any Apps in Appsource which enhance Job and warehouse integration?

Thanks

    Hello,

I know Jobs and Advanced Warehousing is not available today but I hear it might be in the future. In the meantime, creating a Sales Order and linking the Sales Line to the Job is you best process. This will eliminate the need for Transfer. If you want to invoice the Items at that time you can or use the Job for all billing (Job setting of Budget or Budget and Billable).

I would also look at Job Manager in APPSource. This will enhance your process with Jobs.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

@Steve - you sure about the sales order process (in standard)? Those fields are not available as standard - and will have limited editing capabilities if added. To get the result you want this is a modification. Sales wise the job fields are fairly restrictive as the source of information is the job itself. Purchasing does have flexibility but is not part of the requirement here.

    Josh,

Thank you for setting me right. I had my Sandbox open with a Job APP that allowed me to accomplish this in Sales Order.

If you want to achieve this look at this APP - costcontrolsoftware.com/

    Thanks Josh.
