Debugging windows app for tablet

Hi

I'm wrestling with getting the windows app for tablets working with our installation of CRM. When I try and connect it to our IFD enabled deployment currently the app asks me to authenticate and eventually comes back with a less that useful 'we're sorry...something went wrong...' message. If I then try with Fiddler running in the background I notice that the setup tries to connect to

https://.../XRMServices/2011/Organisation.svc/web

but receives a 401 response. If I try and navigate to this page directly in a browser I also get a 401. Is this the crucial bit ie does the app need to go to this page and, if so, does anyone know how to overcome? Incidentally I note that a rival product by Resco seems to connect fine without problems.
