Relation between payment and Invoice in Customer Ledger Entries

Hi

I want to know the relation between Payment and Invoice in Customer Ledger Entries.

I know that we can select an entry and see the applied entries for that specific entry.

But I need to know how those two lines are hooked up with each other.

    Hi,

It is just based on the customer ledger entry no. Generally when we post the payment of customer from general journal, you can see the field "Applies-to Doc.No" which refers to the particular customer ledger entries based on the posted docs.

You can get understand by posting the general journal.

    Good luck.

I think I found out how the field "Closed By Entry No" indicates what entries are hooked up with the invoice.

Mehdi26, did this work? IF a payment doesn't completely close an invoice, is "Closed By Entry No" set?

There must be a join somewhere between payments and invoices, but I cannot find it.
