i'm trying to create a smartlist that would show finished good serial number and component serial numbers that are linked when doing the receipt in the manufacturing order. i can see this information in GP (specifically in the BOM View Trace window), but i'm having difficulty finding a table that shows the information so i can put it on a smartlist that would show the cross reference. any suggestions?

In case either of you ever need to supply the tables that will provide the information I was looking for in this situation (finished good serial number and linked component serial number), the tables needed are MOP1043 MOP_Serial_Lot_Links and MOP1040 MOP_Serial_Lot_Assign. Linking the tables by Parent Component ID, MO Receipt Number, and MO eliminates duplicates and restricts the SmartList to only show those items that have a link in place. Thanks again for the help. It definitely pointed me in the right direction.
thanks! this was a big help. i'm still having a hard time linking though. i can link the tables without problem but it just shows duplicates...i'm having a hard time linking to show which finished good goes to the corresponding component. there doesn't seem to be field to link that would distinguish this. i found the window Manufacturing Component Consumption Inquiry which shows exactly the information I want on a SmartList. I looked in the Resource Descriptions for Manufacturing windows and i don't see this window. Do either of you know what it would be under? it seems that there must be a way to show the cross reference between the serial numbers on a smartlist if i can see it in the system.
I think what you want is the 'friendly name' of the table?
MOP1040 is MOP Serial Lot Assign
MOP1120 is MOP Receipt Detail Serial Lot
If you have the physical name you can get the display name using several tools. The resource descriptions are built in Tools>Resource Descriptions>Tables
Kind regards,
Leslie
thanks for the table names. i need to know which tables in SmartList builder though. do you know which SmartList tables MOP1120 and MOP1040 go to?

You will definitely need multiple tables. I don't think there a single table in GP Mfg that stores what you see in the BOM View Trace - I think that window is storing everything in a temp table.
I know the MOP1120 holds the 'serial or lot numbers' consumed by a FG receipt.......The MOP1050 will show what 'serial/lot' were picked...........The MOP1040 will show what 'serial/lot' was assigned to a FG receipt.......
Good Luck - hope this helps
