We are integrating Dynamics AX 2012 with MS Project server, time sheets are filled and handled outside Dynamics AX. On a weekly basis, approved time sheets will be integrated on lump sum basis. Here is an example:

Resource Category No Hours Hour Rate Cost Price Sales Price
David PM 20 150 3000 0
John PM 10 200 2000 0
Roger PM 15 200 3000 0

In order not to dig into the details, we will create one hour journal in AX as follows:

Resource Category No Hours Hour Rate Cost Price Sales Price
- PM 8000 1 8000 0

Any ideas ? Please feel free to share any other suggestions if the above is not valid

    Hi A.Saf,

    If time recording is done outside, why don't you use hour journals for the import of the summarized data? Getting journals filled is easier and faster than filling time sheets because - among others - you do not need a workflow established.

    This is what I meant, time sheets will be integrated as Hour Journals. Although, hour journals will be on summary level.

    In this essence, the number of hour and rate will not be accurate as it is a summary of several different hour rates.

    You are right but don't you track the details of all those hour transactions outside of AX and only import the summarized data?

    Or did I get something wrong here?

    Why do you need details in AX then?

    The example above is clear, I don't need to track details in AX. I just need to import summary level information.

    In this essence, and since hour rate is difference among resources, you will not be able to get correct hour rate since all hours are cumulative into one hour journal .

    My question is, will this have any impact since hours numbers and rate is not accurate ?
