Explosion of Production BOM

Hi everyone,

BC has a report called Quantity Explosion of BOM. It breaks down all the items required within the BOM. However, this report does not include BOMs that are not certified. Is there another report with the same ability to explode my BOM but with uncertified BOMs?

Thanks!

XT.

As an alternative which can be opened in excel:

It opens for a single item but you can change the filter. You get a similar view in the item availability by BOM level page. Same thing you can tweak the filter and export to excel

    Hi Josh,

Thank you so much for this! May I ask where do I generate this?

Also if there is any report for all BOMs rather than a single BOM?

The Structure page can be launched from the Item List/Card.  It is often buried in the Related > Assembly/Production > Structure.

The Structure page does one BOM at a time.  I don't know of a better view/export to get multiple BOMs in the view.

Worth considering the report you originally identified only shows the assigned Production BOM on an item. It only filters on “Closed”. I think you want a generic print out of all production BOMs regardless as to whether they are assigned to a finished goods item.

If that’s the case then a standard report does not exist. The page I mentioned previously is again for a production BOM assigned to an item. To get a report regardless of that you could try publishing a web service for page 99000788. That’s the line level of production BOMs. It doesn’t include the status though. You can publish a web service for the “header” type table and then fuse them together in a power query for example.

I think it would be best to have a report created based on your needs. Whether that’s a BC report, Power BI or other.
