Just recently had to recover from a disaster. After restoring from the backup, some emails went out that were not suppose to. How can we prevent this in the future. Normal processes during the day have workflows that are triggered at the time a record is created, then waits for 2 days then creates and sends an email. The emails that were sent out ranged from 2 to 2 months. The ones older than the 2 days were more than likely stuck do to mail server issues, but for the ones that were in the normal waiting period, what could be done to prevent these from going out.

Would I be able to create a workflow that would automate this process? There are several of the workflow s that I would need to deactivate, and would want to create new backups everyday. After this last experience, I don't want to be with out good current backup. Make sure to check you system backups, let me tell you that you can't just rely on those to save your data.
Hi,
As I understand your workflow is triggered when a new record is created.
You just need to deactivate your workflow before restoring your database. If you do a full restore with overwrite all. Then before doing your backup you need to deactivate your workflow.
Once it is restored you reactivate your workflow and every thing works fine
