Hello everyone, i am new in this field. We are about to start physical inventory in out store so could you please send me easy process to make effective inventory.

    SO Manager > Inventory > Physical Inventory

    You can also look it up on the SO Manager Help file.

    Start a new Physical inventory for the entire store.

    Scan / Enter items or use a inventory scanner to add items from a csv file.

    Remember to save periodically.

    After you are done scanning -

    Calculate > Commit.

    I use very similar process.

    1) Always do a backup first.

    2) Run stock value reports before I do an inventory changes (import)

    3)Since we have a small business, we break-up doing the inventory counting over several days. So we do one department at a time - by creating a basic CSV file for a particular department using quantity report and exporting only ILC, description, price, quantity. Beware of how you bring the CSV into excel since you may lose leading zero's if not done properly.

    3) Import the CSV into a spreadsheets ( we do one department at a time).

    4) Add new count column - doing some counting

    5) Frantically look around to find missing items.

    6) Save file in CSV format.

    7) SO Manager > Inventory > Physical Inventory>New

    Create a Blank Inventory count for manual entry

    Import file

    Calculate > Commit.

    PS. If you have a good size store - having a portable scanner will save you alot of time. We just use laptops.
