Master Data Management Stops Working with No Explanation

We run BC v22.3 on-premise and use Master Data Management Setup to keep our master data synced across a large number of BC companies within the same environment, pointing all of them to the same master data company.

Master Data Management isn't updating records in the /subscriber/ companies that are pointing to our master data company. There are no sync errors, and the synchronization table logs show no failed syncs. The records simply don't update. The only way we can fix this is to completely eradicate the entire MDM Setup and redo it.

There is no event we can tie to this happening. Perhaps we've recently applied a config. pack. to update the master data company's COA or other synced tables, but we've taken no other action. We haven't altered the MDM Setup for the /subscriber/ companies, in any way.
I have the same question (0)

    Hi sir,

Have you troubleshot issues when synchronizing data between Shopify and Business Central following the Microsoft Document:

    Judy,

This is not an issue with Shopify, but BC to BC master data synchronization. I can confirm that the behavior is very strange. One company in a list of 4 that subscribe to the master company is not receiving new updates and there are no failures. The one record that exists in the specific table being tested does update properly, but the new records are not being pulled into one of the companies.

    Hi Aaron,

I think you can check the event logs to see if there are any valuable messages that can provide insights into the cause of the issue. Maybe if there are any extensions that causes such issue.

    Best Regards,
    Judy

We did observe similar problem on our client enviroment . That sometimes when user which was setting the MDMS, did not log in to a subsidary companies for a while, it affects in synchronisation going to hold and not working. It is easy to fix. That User has to log in on the subsidary companie wher is a problem, has go to MDMS and open Synch. Job Queue Entries and set Status to Ready for the tables which synchronization is not up to date.

    Maybe it will help someone.

    Regards Simon
