Hi Nitin, Thank you for reach out.

There may be more than one way to do this. But when creating the Word Template you can use the createdon date. This will give you the current date the template is being created which I hope is what you are looking for.

This is very thorough article on working with templates.

Please let us know this helped by Verifying my answer or asking for more assistance. Have a great day!

    Hi Nitin,

If you are looking to get todays date at the time of generating a document using your Word template, you could add a calculated field to the entity that is set to todays date, then you could use that field in your template.

    Regards,

    Sean

Nitin, I like Joe's idea best. The calculated field is good, but I believe if the form is not opened then the calculated field is not updated. Maybe Sean knows if this is how it works. I will test on my own aside from this.

After some testing my idea would not work every time because the createdOn date is for the actual template itself not any specific instance.

    Hi Nitin,

you can get the date from MS word it self, by using the CreateDate field

it will give you the MS CRM create date of the document template.

    check this for further details

Hi, looks like CreateDate in Word is not being updated even after I save a new document via Save As.

This doesn't work either in the word template
