remove permissions to edit notes on timeline

Hi all,

I need to remove permissions to edit user's own notes on timeline. I tried the below but no luck, user can still edit them.

I made sure that use is not assigned with any other roles that has write permissions.

Could you please help?

Hi Reddy,

Yes, I can understand your pain!

Let's imagine that your note is on the opportunity entity form. You have to go to the relationship opportunity/note and uncheck the reparent cascade.

If the relationship between the parent record and Note is 1: N, it will change depending on the setting of the association behavior.

If it is Parental, it may have inherited the privileges of the owner of the parent record.

Hi Mehdi, note is on contact entity... but I don't see Relationship Contact???

Please advise

Hi,

Go to your Solution --> Contact Entity --> 1:N Relationships --> Find & click on Contact_Annotation relationship

Then configure your cascade as shown below:

Hi,

Save And publish your changes.

When users will update the note, the system will pop an error message.

I will replay the same scenario in my environement.

yep... saved and published all customizations. Tested and still able to edit the note

Hi,

I just replay the same scenario in my environment. I agree that we have the ability to edit the note on the timeline. However, by clicking on save. An error message appears.

Important note: This will only work for new notes created after the cascade has been modified. Old notes will not be impacted. Otherwise, users will still be able to modify old notes.

Hi Mehdi, Sorry I was away.... and yes, I have tried creating a completely new note... I'm still able to edit it :(
