Hello,
We recently purchased a list and would like to enter them into a customer journey to receive emails. Is there a way I can import the list into Dynamics Marketing somewhere as a segment?
Thanks,
Mariah
Hi Mariah,
Is your purchased list an excel file?
If so, you could refer to following process:
1. Create a custom single line text field for Contact entity to identity origin source of contacts.
2. Add a new column to your list, set the value of all rows in this column to "xxx-list".
3. Create a custom view of Contact entity, columns of the view are matched to columns of list file.
4. Create an excel template, copy data from the list to the template file, then import data by uploading the template.
The following tutorial is about how to create excel template and import data:
https://coderscollection.wordpress.com/2018/03/15/setting-data-management-data-maps-data-import/
(By default, the template may has some existing records, we need to clear content of the xlsx file, otherwise existing data might be overwritten by contacts of list.)
5. Check whether import job was successful in Settings > Data Management > Imports.
6. Create a marketing list, query contacts that are imported from xxx-list with filter by using "Advanced find", the filter is: new_originsource(the custom field) equals to "xxx-list".
7. Create a segment which is based on a specific marketing list.
8. Now you can run a customer journey for contacts in list to send them emails.
