VBA Scripting - Next Vendor ID

Posted on by 22,647

Ok, I know someone out there is way smarter than me and has likely already done this, but is there a way to look at the 'last' vendor ID and prompt the user with a "next vendor id"

I dont need a whole series of solutions - I just want to look at the Vendor Master, figure out the next number in the sequence and provide that to the user.

I am not a coder - never have been and really I know that there are a bunch of you out there that could do this in your sleep.

Let me know if this is a simple request - you have my Personal contacts below, connect with me off line if you like and we can discuss.

    Hi Bill-

Since VBA is old-school now, here is another alternative. I recommend it to everyone.

EthoTech makes a great next numeric tool and it is for all of the major IDs in GP: customers, vendors, items, fixed assets, salespeople. Also batches too: sales, receivables, payables.

It just adds a new button to each screen and takes the next number.

    Hi Bill

I have a great sample showing how to default Vendor and Customer IDs using GP Power Tools.

VBA is end of life so alternatives should be considered
