A quick question about 3rd party solutions that are "powered" by Dynamics CRM

Hi:

I have a quick question.

Someone asked me if I was aware about an ITSM software solution called Provance. This solution according their website integrates and is "powered" by Dynamics CRM.

Does this mean that this third party product is provided as a solution that is imported in the Dynamics CRM Import Solution routine?

And if not, how else is it possible to integrate third party products into CRM?

Steve

    Hi Steve,

What you described is typically how third party providers such as Click Dimensions, etc deploy their solutions.

They provide you with a solution that you import into your environment

    Cheers

    Hi Steve,

Almost all third party solution providers, provide with a managed solution which you can import in CRM and then utilise. For e.g. ID Generator, CLickDimensions, ORgDBEditor, PowermailChimp etc.

Below are the instructions that a friend sent me regarding a 3rd party product called Provance and how it is installed. Baased on what he says below, if I were to go to Settings->Customizations->Solutions will I still see a managed solution for the ProVance application?

Provance is installed using our “Welcome to the ITSM Installer Setup Tool”.  The installer reads the supplied install configuration and prepares the deployment, after which the Provance license is applied. Once ITSM is successfully deployed you would then go on to generate master data, configure connectors etc.
