Select Receipt Report Format on the Fly?

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

We have some customers who want a Letter-sized receipt that looks like:

Item  $20.00

    (-2.00)

Subtotal $18.00

We have other customers who want one that looks like this instead:

Item  $18.00

Subtotal $18.00

As far as I know there's no way to give our cashiers the option of the receipt format at the time of the transaction . . . that it's a global permanent setting that's what "everybody gets".

It's not practical to go in and edit the format in the Manager software for the one transaction then go and have to change it back.

Are there any plug-ins or anything solution that I'm missing?

Thanks!

if I understood right you need 2 different receipt templates (with and without discount showing on receipt)

have you try turning on both (receipt printer 1 and 2 ask before printing) and assign different receipt format to each, the one that do not need to print discount turn it off in template

Our POS station has access to two printers now:

    #1, a small Epson printer (40 column)

    #2, a large report printer (8.5x11)

I don't think RMS allows for a "#3" printer. In our case, the #1 printer template is irrelevant. But we need to switch between two different letter-size templates for our #2 printer . . . or set up a #3 report printer with a different template.

    Thanks.

    Hi ArtsyGuy.

No, RMS does not allow You a third printer.

If the template #2 for the second printer is also used for print-out at POS (if only for RMS SO Manager reports, that you don't need it defined in RMS) and You need switch to a other template just before printing, that leave you with two options:

    - create an external print-out add-on, executed via CustomButton that can be used whenever cashier clicks on it (I think there are some RMS partners who have done this, specially the ones with restorants and kitchen ordering and similar)

    - try to make a before-print hook add-on, that will switch from one to another template for the second printer (after asking the cashier, small pop-up), but I'm not sure if this is possible. The hook can be done for sure, the update of the template also (via tSQL), but if it will work - really don't know...

    Hope I'm helping...

    Kind regards, A.
