We have recently purchased D365 HR license and I am trying to set up a human resource environment with sample data and after following steps outlined in the Microsoft docs I am confused as to where I am going wrong. One of the steps is to create an LCS project and then add a human resource instance which is an environment created in power platform admin centre. When I am creating my environment, I select the type as Sandbox as I want sample data, enable the option to create a database, and then choose the option to enable dynamics 365 apps. However, none of the apps listed to automatically deploy include HR. I am not even sure if D365 HR should even be one of the apps to automatically deploy either and it is certainly not one of the apps I can install afterwards. The closest thing is something called HR Virtual Tables which based on my research is not what I want. I do not know how to create a 'human resource instance' to set up my LCS project. Can anyone assist with this and let me know where I am going wrong? Any assistance with this will be greatly appreciated.
Hi Eddie,
When you go to LCS and login with your credentials then you can do below thing.
Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services
Enter the below details
Click Create. Once this is done then you have to click + Add in HR app management and enter the details
Select your environment here.
Please check the reference document from MS docs.

Hi Parag,
Thanks for answering so promptly. Unfortunately, when I get to the step to select the environment I don't have the option to enter an instance type or choose an environment. I see the message "There are no environments that can be deployed to. Select Manage environments to create a new environment." Then when I select Manage Environments it takes me back to Power Platform Admin to create an environment and that is where I think I am going wrong as the environments I create are not being recognised as 'Human Resource environments'.
In Power Platform Admin center, you have to create an environment and link with HR environment.
This is where I need assistance. How do I link with an HR environment? How do I create the HR environment to begin with? I don't see any explicit option to make my environment an HR environment.
Create an environment in Power platform admin
Once this is done then select the new environment.
Thanks so much Parag! I followed your instructions to create the environment and it worked. My mistake was that I was selecting the Enable Dynamics 365 Apps option instead of the Deploy Sample Apps and Data.
Another thing I noticed was that my login for Power Platform Admin Centre was not the same for Lifecycle Services, so I made sure to use the same credentials when logging into both. I think that might have also caused an issue with not seeing the environment as an option to select as well.
