How to print a quote with a custom mail merge template including a product image?

Hello, 

I have been trying to print a quote using the Print Quote For Customer button on top of the form. I am only able to download the mail merge template but I am not able to print that quote using the same template. 

Also, I am in need of including the product image (entity image field in Product entity) in the template too. However, I don't see the entity image field in the list of fields available for selection. 

Kindly advise.

    HI Fahad!

    As far as I know CRM has no standard functionality to use the Entitiy Image in your mail merge template.

    I can give you a solution if you are interested in 3rd party tools.

    With our DocumentsCorePack you are able to generate documents. You get easily all fields from crm into your document and it is also possible to include EntityImages or images which are stored as notes in CRM,..

    Hi,

    I need the same thing, and also be able to print quote for customer. The resulting doc Word for quote should contain the customer image (the logo of the customer uploaded on the account form).

    Does anyone have any idea on how to accomplish this with standard mail merge templates in Microsoft Dynamics CRM On-Premise 2015?

    Hi Lorena,

    Following are the steps that you need to do:

    1. Create a template of the quote including the logo of your customer and other necessary formating. Keep the data fields blank.

    2. Upload the template in CRM in Templates--> Mail Merger Templates

    3. Open the uploaded template. Select the needed data fields and uncheck all the rest, and then save the template.

    4. Publish/Activate your template

    5. Open your Quote and click "Print Quote for Customer" button

    6. Select your template either from your personal templates or organizational templates, depends what type have you saved it with.

    7. Click Print

    8. Now a document will be downloaded on your PC. Open the document, and follow the instructions.

    9. You must either see a CRM tab in the ribbon, or a CRM button in mail merge tab. Click the button

    10. Now from the CRM fields, you can add the fields in your template, click preview to check once done.

    11. Once all this is completed, delete the template you uploaded earlier and uploaded this new document as template and activate.

    From now on, you just need Print the quote, click CRM and click preview to print the quote.
