cannot create new roles , new privileges

Dear all

I would like to create new roles, new privileges, but New as well as Delete buttons of Security roles and Security Privileges forms are disabled( light grey color and cannot click)

Can you please tell me why that is happened?

Hi Pooh,

Are your own security settings set-up correctly? Are you a system administrator?

If so, first thing I'd try is to reset your user data.

I would expect that you lack sufficient user rights.

Can you double check that with your system administrators?

Hi Pooh,

In addition to possible missing permissions, you can't do changes if you have a source control system enabled. To be able to edit a role, duty or privilege you then need to check out the objects first.

Hi Pooh,

You will be able to create new roles/privileges/duties once your user is assign to "System Adminstration" role as creating these security privileges is a critical activity so not everyone can have the access.

Hi Berthil,

I have already replace the user data( replace MicrosoftDynamicsAX database) , Is it the one you mean to do?

Nothing changed after I replaced it.

What is the needed right to create new roles?

I am the System Administrator and my administrator user is assinged two roles System Administrator and System user.

Is there any other right or authority to create new roles ?

The user I am using is assinged "System Administrator" role and I still can't create new roles.
