Hi Guys,

On my CRM 2013 on-site install. I don't have the option to create a new view for the 'Opportunity Product' entity.

Am I missing something?

Many thanks

    Hi Fairlo

Yes, you are right.. there is no New button in the view customization to create new view, but you can create new view by following options:

    1. Use Save as Function

Go to the Opportunity Product -> Views then double click the existing view and click Save As

It will create a new view actually.

    2. Go to Opportunity Form Editor

And double click the existing Opportunity Product subgrid view

Then you can create new through that.

*Remember that for the new view, you wont be able to have inline editable view like the standard one.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Many thanks :-)

Is there a reason why it has to be done like this do you know?

    Hi Fairlo,

I don't know the particular reason.

I think there is display rule in that ribbon that CRM seems doesn't allow as to create new View through customization because by default this entity will not appear in the sitemap if you see the entity Properties, areas that display this entity is disable to be chosen by default without any sitemap modification.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks.

    Fairlo,

Just in case you found a trouble knowing that the product name column is not displayed, I suggest you to create new view by using the All Opportunity product view,  not the inline view.

    Thanks.

    Hi Fairlo,

I would not suggest you to create a new view out of the Opportunity Product, reason being the functionality on Inline editing is lost.

According to me this is the reason you cannot create a new view, having said that you still have SaveAs button to create a new one but the functionality of the inline editing is lost (it starts behaving like normal sub grid).

    Hope that helps

    Thanks

    Mithilesh,

I have mentioned and told to Fairlo in my previous post before

"*Remember that for the new view, you wont be able to have inline editable view like the standard one."

    Thanks.
