same item different packaging, we use using traditional method to handle it, mean create a thousand of item code. Any suggest to reduce to workload different packaging issue

Hello All,

Dynamic AX question.

The question is when the same product with thousand of packaging, right now our colleague need to create thousand of product code for each (product + packaging). Any better suggest to reduce to workload different packaging issue. so, how to keep track total product on hand, and number of different packaging right now.

Hi Wallace,

It would be an option to work with product masters and configurations. Then you create product and have the configuration as packaging. You can also create one single item and use the packing units on the sales line.

But it all depends also on the requirements related to e.g. sales price or other properties.
