CRM 2015 quick campaign using mail merge template

Hi all,

I am trying to create a quick campaign using the mail merge template that I have already created and saved.

I open up the marketing list, and select quick campaign. Entered the campaign name, and when I get to the Activity types to include in the campaign, I don't see the "Email via Mail Merge" selection

I must be missing saving the mail merge as an email template?

Thank you for your help.

Do you have the CRM for Outlook client installed?

yes, I do. But I should be able to create a quick campaign using the browser instead of CRM for Outlook, right? or is this a required?

As log as the plugin exists, you should be able to create it from either.    Are you just not getting the option at all for mail merge?  Not even "Letter via Mail Merge"?

I get only the 5 types above. Nothing about mail merge.

Abed. I need to select the activity type first, right? before I can select the template. The only activities available is the 5 above. None are from "Email via mail Merge"so I don't see my mail merge template if I select "Email"activity.

    Hi Charles,

If you use browser, you can only send Email by Template, but using the Email Template, NOT Mail Merge Template.

    http://www.magnetismsolutions.com/blog/colinmaitland/2013/12/16/microsoft-dynamics-crm-2013-mail-merge

Mail Merges may still be completed using a Quick Campaign when using the Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook Client and using either the Letter via Mail Merge or theEmail via Mail Merge options. These Quick Campaign Wizard options are not available when using the Web Client.

So that you wont find that button when you use browser, you need to use Outlook to send email via mail merge directly, it's same for Quick Campaign and Campaign as well.

But, from marketing list you can do mail merge from Browser, but not sending email directly, you need to do mail merge first using word as usual.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks

    Aileen,

Thanks so much for the answer. That's it. Now, I can see mail merge in the quick campaign using CRM for outlook client.
