Cannot change/set default view in CRM Online

The default view in CRM Online for Service is "My Activities".  I don't want to use this view.  I've created a custom view that I've called "All My Appointments" and I'd like to have Service default to this view.  I've *already* changed the pins, but they don't *stay* changed; the next time I log in, "My Activities" is once again the default view, unfortunately.  How can I change this permanently?

Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about.  The pin next to my custom view always shows that it's pinned.  The pin next to "My Activities" always returns to being pinned even after I've unpinned it.

    Hi Rick,

I cannot replicate this online. What browser are you using and what device/computer?

Hakim, Thanks for the alert, I've added the screenshot again, hopefully it stays up this time.

Using Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1 on a Microsoft Surface Pro 2.  I also added the screenshot again.  Hopefully that helps.

Are you on Update Rollup 2 or Update Rollup 3? I think your Surface Pro 2 may not be supported/compatible which could be causing the issue but I cannot tell from the support matrix. Somebody else may be able to chip in and confirm this?

*Running the Microsoft Dynamics CRM web application in Internet Explorer 11 or running the Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Windows 8 app on Windows 8.1 requires Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 Update Rollup 2 hence we could do with checking this.

    Hi Rick,

My guess is , your sitemap.

    Have you had this customised?

It appears your sitemap has the "activity" entity as the first entity in the subarea as such will display the activity views which is what you see.

Mine has got cases as the first entity in the service subarea so I can see "my cases" view.

I have attached a screen shot:

    crm-view-2.PNG

In my second screen shot, I've got "Activity" entity as the second entity in the subarea that's why you see activities entities:

Bear in mind ,your activities are entities on their own...so your activity view will display list of "activity entities" like your appointments, phone calls or any other custom activity entity you would have created.

My suggestion will be to add appointments to be your first entity in your service subarea sitemap and you might be able to achieve this. As your default appointment view will now be displayed whenever you go to the service area.

You can use the CRM sitemap editor to modify your sitemap.

Let me know if this helps

I have created a test solution with an "address " area and placed "appointment" as the first entity in the "Address" subarea..

you can see it always defaults to my appointments default viewwhen I navigate there

    Hakim,

Thanks for working on this with me.  I'm not sure if I can do this, or how.  I'm using CRM Online, is it possible to edit the sitemap there?  Assuming it's possible in CRM Online, will this change it for everyone or only for me?  I don't want to modify a global setting, only mine.

1984, I'm on whatever CRM Online is on.  I would assume that this is the latest, but I don't know where to go in CRM Online to check.

Activities View is a special view where it combines multiple activity records into one view.  It has 2 levels of hierarchy to show default view.

First one is "All Activities" this is the list of view that shows all activities regardless of activity type and it has it's own default view that is "My Activities" . This is the first view shown whenever someone clicks on the activities Tile.

Second level is Activity type based. Each activity type has it's own default view. That's what you have explained in your image. You have Appointment entity default view pined as "All my Appointments".

In order to make your  " All My Appointments"  view as default view , you need to create this view in first level that is  "All Activities" .

To do this select any view under "All Activities"  and click on Advanced find from "..." . Using advanced find create your view that meets your need and save it. Once you save refresh the page and see whether your new view appears or not under "All Activities" View , if it appears select that view and pin it. Once you pin it will become your default view when you click on  Activities .
