One Quote can be related to many quote products so i'm sure why you want to move value from quote product to quote as you may have more than one quote product value will be overwritten in quote and you will see last value that got updated in the quote.

Create a workflow that will be triggerdon create of quote product as well on update of the custom field.

Add a step to update Quote in the workflow to move value from quote prodcut to quote.

    Hi Andrea,

Since the Quote Product and Quote is N:1 Relationship, the easiest way is still using workflow.

As long as the data type is matched then it would be fine, let's say the custom field is option set then you want to update the Quote as well, you need to make sure they are using save Global Option set reference and also if the custom field is lookup field then you also use the lookup field in the Quote as well.

    Hope this can help you.

    Thanks.

Yes, I am having an issue that I have created a Custom Field > Setup Fees per Product. I have created the WorkFlow to Increment by so that if I have multiple products that each have Setup Fees then it adds them together. But If I change any of the values or remove any Setup Fees then it doesn't recalculate the value of the Custom Field on the Quote form.

    Andrea,

If you change the value you also needs to trigger the workflow, same as Remove, you need to Decrement this value.

If you use CRM 2015, if you want to upgrade, you can use rollup/caculated field for this.

    Thank you.

Although CRM 2015 seems like it will fix a lot of our issues we can unfortunately not upgrade to CRM 2015 as we are running Exchange 2007.

I created two Workflows one to Increment to when the field is created or updated and then another Workflow to Decrement when the field is deleted, but it only ever adds up and never decreases. This also doesn't seem like a clean solution because if I change the value and do not delete it, it continues to add the old and new values together. Is there no other way to achieve what I am trying to do by recalculating and then re-add the custom fields from Products to a custom field on the Quote?

    Kind Regards

    Andrea,

Try to use Plugin for This...

But I think using CRM Realtime workflow, you can capture the old value and recalculate it right?

Although the best one is using plugin for this and then use aggregate, because you want to calculate based on Child records (Quote and Quote Product relationship) basically here is the best example

    Hope this helps.

    THanks.

Just checking - is the decrement workflow activated?

Send us a screenshot of your workflow to Decrement, and that will help us help you.

You can send us a screen shot of the increment one as well if you like.

Yes, the Decrement Workflow is Activated. Please see screenshots:

This workflow is only running when the record is deleted.

Do you not also need it to run when the record fields are changed, and possibly when the status changes as well?

    Andrea,

You need to decrement by the deleted Quote Product fee not the setup_Quote fee field in the QUote.

    Thanks.
