Timesheet project activity required

Hello,

Is there any parameter or config in the project module that forces to fill the activity field when introducing lines in a timesheet?

The project is required as you can see in the image 7120.PScreen.PNG.

Thanks

    Hi,

There is a project management parameter and a project specific parameter that asks you whether a activity needs to be filled.

Yet, your error message asks for the project ID. Seems that the project ID is not entered.

    Best regards,

    ludwig

    Hi,

Which is the parameter? I don't see it in Project management and accounting setup section.

    Thanks

    Hi Christoph,

I have tried but It does not work. Neither registering the line in the timesheet (I don't any error saying the activity its required) nor posting that timesheet after being approved.

    Thanks

    Hi axrookie,

After changing the parameters you probably have to create a new timesheet or at least delete the previously recorded lines.

If the activity requirement parameters are turned off things should work.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Sorry, It does not work.

I have created a new timesheet and the parameter does not take effect. Neither fill-in the line nor posting after approved.

Additionally, I tried with an hour journal and I was able to add lines and post without filling the activity.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Have you deactivated the activity requirement parameters for your projects?

(See the second screenshot from Christoph Taler above)

If they are turned off you should no longer receive the message that an activity is required.

What is the error message that you receive?

    Still the same?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Oh, sorry, maybe has been a misunderstood.

I actually want to see that warning ... and finally I get it checking that field at the project itself (thanks Christoph). I thought If the parameter was configured at module level it would be applied to all projects, but It does only at the creation moment.

So, now I have to update this to all my projects with a batch.

    Thanks a lot.

Oh! I have seen this settings does not take effect when I create a timesheet from the Enterprise Portal.

It works only from the AX client.

    Is it like that?

    Thanks

    Hi AX rookie,

There is a hotfix available for that

    Please check for

KB 2973952Mandatory category on activity is not working on timesheets created from

    enterprise portal

    on LCS.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
