Color picker

Posted on by 20
Hi, I'm quite new to D365 FinOps and I'm creating a table with a color field inside.

I was wondering what would be the best way to introduce a color picker control when editing the field in a grid?

Failing that, is there an easy way to allow hex values to be entered?

I found an article that explains how to add ColorSelection control to an edit form but I don't understand how I would apply that control to a cell in a grid when using the Simple List pattern

Okay, I got. But you still didn't tell us what problem you have with it. We can't give you any advice without knowing your problem.

I have an integer field on the grid.  I just want to know how to turn it into a color picker.

I'm sorry, but it's not clear to me what problem you have. You're seem to be asking whether you can put the field to a grid, but you already have it there. Or are you confused by the fact that the blog post doesn't use a grid and therefore the field is in a group?

    Thanks for the heads up.

However, I would like to use it in a grid.

In the above image, I have a grid field setup for my color field but I don't know how to add the control as the tutorial has:
Is it possible to add the same control to a grid column?

You can utilize ColorSelection class. Use "Find references" to see examples of the usage in the standard application,.

By the way, I moved this thread from D365 general forum to the Finance forum, because it's clearly about F&O and not about D365 in general. D365 includes quite a few different products, such as former Dynamics NAV.
