Expected behavior of activities tracked by category sync

Hi all,

I'm running into issues with Category Tracking in Dynamics 365 9.1 online with Server Side Sync. Basically, appointments created in CRM are syncing out to the user's Outlook calendar as expected, and turning up with the "Tracked to Dynamics 365" category as expected. That part is working great.

However, if a user goes into Outlook and changes that appointment's time/date, it moves in Outlook but the change does not sync back into CRM. I could have sworn this worked in past testing but it hasn't today. Admittedly, we just updated to 9.1 this weekend and we're seeing some slow/odd performance that might be related.

But can anyone confirm that Outlook should sync such a change back to D365 assuming Server Side Sync is set up and running properly? Does Outlook to Dynamics require the D365 Outlook App be installed when category tracking is used, or is it required for all Outlook -> D365 changes?

Thanks

Rob
