Help with CTI Functionality

Hello Folks,

We have requirement where we need to develop an Click To Call functionality within CRM.

We have developed a widget which pops up on the click of a Ribbon Button and passes the obtained Mobile phone or Main phone to the widget which then processes the Call feature.

The widget works pretty fine.

But now we need the same scenario to work when the Call Number field is Clicked.

Example:- Suppose the user Clicks on Mobile number or business number, the widget(an HTML) should pop up and should be able to use that Phone number for calling.

Normally in CRM, when we click on Phone number its goes to Skype so how do i replace this?

    Hi omgcrm,

    As CRM defaults to Skype/Lync (you can only choose between these two), which actually means it changes the protocol handler used for the fields. (Skype skype: and Lync callto: / tel: )

    I would choose to register an application that runs your HTML widget as the skype:/callto: protocol handler (choose the application which you don't use).

    1) I need widget(HTML) to pop up when any phone number is clicked from any browser.

    2)Could anyone explain how to design a Click to call functionality in CRM? What are the Steps to be taken?  

    i am getting confused with USD. I know it is used to create desktop applications but there are very rare tutorials regarding USD, CTI Adapter etc

    Please see this Video, as this explains my scenario

    how do i accomplish the things done in this video like, pop up of application and adding button in bottom, etc 

    Could anyone point me to right direction?

    Could you please let me know how to achieve click2dial feature on html field .  when clicked on OOTB CRM field, by default, it tries to connects to Skype. How to make the same functionality for html field.

    Hi Sreekanth. I'd recommend Tenfold as well, I saw your post last year and jenny's recommendation. I tried the free trial and their click to dial functionality works great for me. Just in case that you haven't found a solution to this yet, why not try a third party CTI adapter like Tenfold first. Here you go. www.tenfold.com/.../dynamics
