Production Jobs

Hi,

I need to know how to create Jobs, in order to break Operations into individual tasks. I understand there is Job scheduling in the Production order form, but I still can't find where do I create these Jobs and assign them to Operations. I have read related topics in Technet, I think these jobs must be associated to Resources, am I correct?

Please create a route and link it with your production order, then go to scheduling ->select schedule jobs (production order header) -> select ok.  Now go to inquiries -> Job list, you can see the jobs :)

    Hi Ram,

Yes, I know this is how I would see the jobs. My question was, how do I CREATE these jobs and how do I assign them to the resources involved.

Do you want to create it by code...?

No, I just want to create them as a normal user. I think I might not be understanding how this works. I mean, is it possible to create jobs the same way Routes and Operations are created? Is there a "Jobs" form?

The routing steps create the jobs. You have a route that requires 1 hour setup and 4 hours to run. That would produce two jobs in job scheduling.

There is no jobs form - jobs are the detail of the route - you create the route.

For each operation in a route you can create many different types of jobs. Check the route group to see what you can create (off the top of my head: Setup, Process, Transport, Queue before, Queue after and Overlap) Check the jobs column to let these be created.

The jobs are created at job scheduling. You can not create them manually... At least not as standard.

The only way to change these is by rescheduling or through the gantt chart which is possible to launch after the job scheduling.

PS: There are jobs created (Setup and process) at operations planning if you've selected ROUTE as feedback in the manufacturing execution parameters.

    Good luck.
