Business Central Automatic login / authenticator

I'm not sure if this is a Business Central question or I should try to find a Azure forum instead, but please let me know if you have any suggestions.

We have a Business central cloude setup on top of a basic Azure setup. We don't know a lot about Azure and we do not care, but of course we care a bout security, so we had some help to make security settings.

On thing that was added is two factor login with the Microsoft Authenticator app and this works very well, but one annoying thing I don't understand. After we activated this two factor login, we must only use it every 7 days. After authentication with the app we have a seven 7 days periode with automatic login and this raise 2 questions.

1) we never asked for automatic login in 7 days - can this be swiched off, so users must login to Busines Central every time they open the login web link? On every login I want a two factor authentication where they must as step 1 enter user name and password and as step 2 approve with the Authenticator app.

2) As an administrator I sometimes needs to login in to business central with an other user, but because of the auto login I never gt the change to enter a user name. How can I prevent the auto login and login in to business central with a different user?

Best regards

Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

I think this link should cover your first question:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../howto-mfa-mfasettings

The secound quesion you can use an incognito window / private window in your browser then it will not remember your login and you can log in as a different azure ad user.

    Hello,

For the second question, you can create another browser profile (Edge, FireFox or Chrome). You just select another browser profile and auto logon or select the correct / wanted user name plus password. I have several in Edge / Chrome and it works great (great feature).

    Thanks.

    Hej Inge

Yes your are right - the link was exactly what i need.

    - and your solution for question 2 also works perfect. I tried to delete all cookies and use VPN, but not of those things helped, so I guess they somehow identifies a user via some kind of device id/MAC address or whatever.

Many thanks. Your always deliver great help.

    Kind regards

    Thomas

    Thanks Marco

You also always give good advice, but Inge was faster :-)

I don't know about browser profiles in edge, but I will give it a try.

    Kind regards

    Thomas
