Project / Estimate / Some hours not included in the total are missing

Hello everybody,

I hope you are well.

I just came back from holidays two days ago, and some users make me discorver that we have suddenly  a problem of cost calculation in the project estimate.

What is surprising me is that approximatively 10 subsidiaries are using AX 2012 R3 (same database, same environment). We have the problem for only 2 subsidiaries.

We made an update of our production environment (SSRS reports only) on July 16th.

Process for us is such :DEV ==> UAT ==> PROD.

We have also a training environment (updated with refresh from prod on August 16th ).

we had also refreshed UAT from prod on July 15th, just before our delivery.

today the model store is the same on both environment.

When we create an estimate for some projects on prod for some subsidiaries (2), hours are missing (Hour Journal or Timesheet). I mean cost calculation does not include those hours (they avant an amount :-) )

When we create an estimate for some project (same as above) on UAT for some subsidiaries (2), hours are NOT missing (Hour Journal or Timesheet). I mean cost calculation  includes those hours (they avant an amount :-) )

When we create an estimate for some project (same as above) on TRAININGfor some subsidiaries (2), hours aremissing (Hour Journal or Timesheet). I mean cost calculation does not include those hours (they avant an amount :-) )

So in my mind, something was updated on prod (for those subsidiaries), but I can't find what.

Do you see something evident for you ?

Hope I was clear and thanks in advance if you can help.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

Can you check the cost template that is linked to your project?

Please open the revenue recognition tab and check the cost template used.

Once you have that information check that the cost template includes all categories.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

And I've checked that the setup in the same in both environment.

    Hello Christophe,

Has somebody possibly modified or changed the cost lines included in the costing sheet?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

after 4 days of research and debugging, we found what happened.

I let the answer below in case of it happens for other users.

In fact, we think that an error occured in one company during the execution of function Create Estimates. unfortunatelly this function was not launched in batch mode, so I can't proove it.

But in fact what we found is that Estimate Date was not filled despite of the line cost status, line item status and line hour status was Etimated (tables projempltranscost , PROJITEMTRANSCOST, PROJITEMTRANSCOST ).

As far as I could have identified the concerned data, I have updated WIPPERIOD column, and now it is ok.

    Thanks for helping.

    Christophe
