    Hi,
Yes, since you deployed it on your Dev(Make sure to deploy SSRS repots before creating package), you should create deployable package from VS and import it to LCS and apply it to your UAT environment, also you can create the deployable package using Azure pipeline if you use it.

    Thanks,

    Waed Ayyad

    Hi D365FO Junior-Dev,

Creating a package from Visual Studio is possible, but not best practice. You would need to use a source control system where you can manage what items should be part of a release. You can then perform some branching tasks and use pipelines to build the solution and generate a deployable package.

When you create a package from Visual Studio, it would include possible pending development changes from the same model(s) which were not competed yet.

Thank you all for answering my question If I go for Azure DevOps should I only check in the (ExampleReport.rdl) file into the DevBranchName/Metadata/ModelName/ModelName/AxReport directory after deploying it in Visual Studio?

    Hi,

Yes, but do you have other Dev-Ops branches also? If yes, you should merge the changes to other branches, after you deploy the changes to UAT and test it. Do your changes only on the SSRS report? Do you change the other related elements like DP class, temp table, etc.?

    Thanks,

    Waed Ayyad

@Waed Ayyad The project includes the DP class, temp tables and the report should I check in each item to their respective directory such as ExampleReport.rdl to AxReport  ?

    Hi,

You can check in all items related to SSRS report changes together, each element will be checked in into the correct folder.

    Thanks,

    Waed Ayyad
