The users just upgraded to 2013 (GP12.00.1412, SQL Server 2012 SP 1). They have a customer whose customer ID contains an apostrophe like Elmo's). It is a national account and has been used without issue for years. However, on the first Cash Receipt transaction for the customer since the upgrade, they get the following errors when saving the payment.

GPS Error SCRIPT NAME GetLastCustomerGUID: 58

SQL Error SCRIPT NAME GetLastCustomerGUID: 102

[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server] Incorrect Syntax near 'S'.

ODBC Error SCRIPT NAME GetLastCustomerGUID: 37000

Good day, we recently upgraded to GP 2013 and a user received the same error message. The customer number does not have an apostrophe. I suggested she log off GP and go back in to the batch and she was able to re-enter the receipt.

The edit list printed without any errors, but I am concerned they may come up at posting?

What you are seeing is bug 67106 and is caused by the Dynamics Online Services module not properly handling the apostrophe.

The issue is still outstanding but scheduled to be fixed in a future service pack.

In the meantime, the only workarounds are:

    1. Use the PSTL tools or the Customer Modifier and Combiner in 2013 SP2 to rename the customer number to remove the apostrophe.

    2. You could remove the Dynamics Online application from the dynamics.set file and remove the addin from the DYnamics.exe.config file.  This works but is somewhat messy.

    3. Use the Support Debugging Tool and use the "Dictionary Control" window to disable Dynamics Online.  That way you do not have to modify the application modify "config" files.  This is a pretty easy solution - especially if you have the SDT loaded already.

If not you would have to get it from your partner as it is a partnersource only download.
