    Hi Shuhaib,

Picking list is used to record the consumption you need to manufacture the finished or semi-finished goods. You have freedom to record the consumption of BOM components either while starting the manufacturing of the product or after the product is manufactured or in between (by creating the manual picking list).

Can you elaborate on what do you mean by item delivery is not controlled?

    Regards

    -Rahul

    Hi Rahul,

presently the finished good produced is booked against the Work Order . then the packing slip is made from here .

the issue is there is no control of items delivery .

how to control the item delivery after the production of the item ,

You mean delivery to customer? Are you referring to the sales order packing slip or?

Do you use automatic reservation or manual reservation to sales order?

Can you again explain what is the business objective here - i.e. do you want to allocate the materials manually or automatically ? Do you want to manage the risk of materials being allocated to irrelevant orders with automatic reservation or? When you say no control what is the issue actually?

Have you already explored the date sensitive reservation?

    Regards

Yes i am referring to the sales order packing slip.

once the production is made it is moved to Finished goods warehouse .

this items are directly delivered from here .

business wants a new warehouse to be created called loading warehouse .

but for this finished goods warehouse has to be changed to loading warehouse in the entire system .

so the finance team is not agreeing for this .

is there any other solution where the loading item can be booked so that from here they can process the loading

Thank  you for sharing the additional input.

I think considering your scenario, warehouse on the sales line should be the newly created loading warehouse with the refilling setting on for this warehouse, with finished good warehouse should be set to as 'refill warehouse'.

With this setting system will suggest you to transfer the goods (either using the transfer journal or transfer order as per the settings) from the finished goods warehouse to the loading warehouse.

You need not change the entire system and instead just change the default sales warehouse to 'loading warehouse' so that upcoming sales order will be delivered from the loading warehouse while for older orders you need to move the goods manually to loading warehouse.

This is the valid business requirement and i am not sure what is the reason why finance team do not agree for this.

Yes, of course if warehouse are located far away from each other there there will be transfer cost which you need to consider which will also increase the inventory value.

You can decide best option for moving the goods - whether transfer journal or transfer order to be used.

    I hope  this helps.

    Hi Shuhaib,

it can't be done by picking list. Use transfer journal .

    Hi shuhaib,

If the Finished goods items are physically delivered from the Finished goods warehouse then it is not necessary, in terms of AX at least, to use a 'loading' warehouse. You just need to tell the sales order where the goods were picked from - i.e. the Finished goods warehouse. You can use a Picking list to do this. You use 'Picking list registration' form to pick the items that the sales order needs from the Finished goods warehouse, and then post the Packing slip for Quantity 'Picked'.

    Dear Shuhaib,

Can you mark the appropriate answer as verified if you do not need additional information here?
