Automatically connect Sales Accelerator Sequence to Opportunities

Hi there,

I've configured Sales Accelerator, a Sequence and a Segment for the Opportunity entity.  All are active, the Sequence is connected to the Segment and previewing members of the segment returns existing Opportunities.  The sequence works fine if I manually connect it to an Opportunity but it doesn't automatically connect to new Opportunities created that meet the segment criteria.

I have a Sales Enterprise license, and the System Administrator Administrator role.  Is there a limitation with the Sales Enterprise license to auto connect a sequence to new records created or what system settings are requires to auto connect a sequence to new records created that meet the segment criteria?

Thanks so much!

    Hi LPahal,

Did you strictly follow the steps provided in the following link?

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/sales/manage-segments

It should have nothing to do with licenses, the documentation states that the Sales Enterprise license is eligible.

    Hi Leah,

Thanks so much for the quick reply!

I did follow the steps in the same link provided but did not complete 5.c in the 'To connect a segment to a sequence' which states to "Open each associated segment, and choose which records you want to connect to this sequence." as there does not seem to be a place in the segment screen to manually choose which records to connect to the sequence.

I did notice that the example screen shots show records in the 'Segment members' where our segments do not have any members even though there are Opportunities that meet the criteria when I click to Simulate (records have been created since the segment was activated):

It seems that either there is another step besides Activate that associates new Opportunities to the segment or the automatic assignment just isn't enabled somehow.  I am using the default Sales Hub and the default Sales Insights form for creating new Opportunities.

I did the same steps in a Sales Trial I have and the new Opportunities associate as expected which is why I thought it may have to do with a limitation on the Enterprise license.

Any ideas you have are greatly appreciated!

RE: Automatically connect Sales Accelerator Sequence to Opportunities

Thanks for the ideas Leah - After I sent the last post I started thinking that maybe I didn't have access to the PowerAutomate flow or something and found the environment has numerous errors in the System Jobs and it looks like the plugin to assign the Segment to the Sequence is simply caught up in the other errors.

If this situation also happens in your environment my suggestion is to review the System Jobs for entries while creating/changing an Opportunity to see the results of the job.
