Error while posting a Financial statement - 'The statement xxxx is in Gift cards posted state. Statement posting cannot continue'.

Hello,

I'm facing trouble posting multiple financial statements and getting following error -

pastedimage1591286546934v1.png

(Trickle feed is enabled in the environment I'm using to post this statement)

The statement only includes a transaction for Starting amount and tender declaration.

Tender declaration does not have any line for Gift card tender.

Can anyone please let me know the possible cause of this issue and resolution of the same.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Sneha,

Please check the posting profile on the Gift card item.

Commerce parameters > Posting > Gift card item

For gift card item > Item group > main account

Main accounts /Posting profile should be setup for:

Sales  - Issues, receipts, cogs and revenue

    Inventory - Issue and receipt

    Resolution as suggested by MS:

Trying to post a statement that was initially created as a Complete statement (statement type = 0 - Created with RetailEOD key enabled) using the Financial statement (Statement type = 2).

There was a manual change of the statement type. To post these statements, you should revert back the statement type to 0, disable Trickle feed feature in feature management, post these statements and, after that, enable again Trickle feed.

    Follow below steps:

    1.       Change the statement TYPE = Complete

    2.       Disable Retail statements - Trickle feed from Feature management

    3.       Post the statement

    4.       Enable Retail statements - Trickle feed from Feature management

RE: Error while posting a Financial statement - While processing the state Checked, generic exception encountered in retail statement xxxx in the controller : 'The statement xxxx is in Gift cards posted state. Statement posting cannot continue

    Hi Todd,

    Thanks for the response.

The first two commerce parameters were already configured as you suggested and I changed the third parameter -Set (Gift card) Journal to blank.

Then I tried to post one of these errored statements - but no luck, still getting the same issue.

Have raised the issue to MS now.

    Thanks so much!

    Sneha

    Hi Sneha,

Can you check if the following configuration is set?

On Commerce parameters (old Retail parameters) > Posting > Set Tax on gift card to "NO".

On Commerce parameters (old Retail parameters) > Posting > Set Gift card company to the current company.

On Commerce parameters (old Retail parameters) > Posting > Set (Gift card) Journal to blank.

If the issue persists, after validating/making these changes, I would recommend creating a new support incident as we will need to look at the data.

    Thank you in advance.
