Warehouse Item Naming Conventions (UoM)

I'm about to perform a rapid start import for my items, however, I'm running across a bit of a problem around naming of items. I manufacture liquids from powders that all have units of measure, (mg, g, kg) into liquids (mL, L, etc.). My question is around naming these items on the item card. When I purchase a powder from a vendor it comes in either 100 g, 500 g, or 1 kg. Is it wise to put the container size with unit of measure in the product name or just the product name and the container size and unit of measure in other fields...or both? Ex: xyz bottle 500 grams OR xyz bottle. I do need to be able to know exactly how many g or kg of a given powder I have on hand so naming it xyz bottle 500 g and putting qty of 1 on purchase order or warehouse receipt would not work for me. Thanks for the help.
