SiteMap is not updated after solution import

I have one interesting problem here. After importing managed solution in CRM, SiteMap is not updated.

SiteMap is included in solution. I checked in customization.xml file, and everything seems fine (appropriate groups are included as well as SubAreas). After import in CRM I published solution, cleaned browser cache, tried with different browsers,... no success.
I found somewhere that CRM machine restart could be helpful. Restarted, solution reimported, but again, without success.

Using SiteMap Editor those changes are not visible. (!?!?!)

Everything else from solution is applied successfully, only sitemap is problem.

Any advice about this?
Thanx!

    Hello,

Is it CRM Online or On Premise?

If On Premise then what is the Update rollup installed on the CRM server and I would suggest you to install the latest update rollup for CRM then check if the issue still reproduces.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I also have this problem using the SiteMap Editor for Dynamics CRM. I make changes, save, publish all customizations then I check the organisation where there are no changes visible. To see if the .XML file was updated, I export the existing SiteMap solution that contains the .XML file, and my changes are contained within it. For some reason, the changes are not visible in CRM.

I have also checked that I have the latest rollup, which I have.

Does anyone have an explanation as to why the SiteMap does not update?

For my particular problem, I had to add a child entity and then regular entities beneath the new Area I was adding. After I saved those changes in SiteMap Editor and published, the site map was updated. I hope this helps someone.

I am using CRM Online 2013 and am having the same problem when I include the edited sitemap file with the managed solution.  I was able to work around it creating another solution that only had the sitemap in it (same sitemap) and then created a managed solution and imported it as well.  With the two managed solutions it works.  Very strange.

    Hello,

I have solved the problem with cashing in my CRM 2011 on premise. I wanted to make a changes in sitemap and check the impact in cache directory in my local browser. During this time I explore the changes in site map depends at cache directory at CRM Server side... My suspicion was confirmed. The changes in sitemap was visible after import, publish all customizations and restart the pool in IIS for CRM site.

    I hope it will be work for you too (-;

I had to use XrmToolBox's SiteMapEditor.

I exported the sitemap from the environment I had the target SiteMap in and imported it on the new one.

I still have no idea why updating the solution containing the SiteMap doesn't work.
